Paul Aijian M.D. is a doctor of Internal Medicine. He has been practicing in Santa Barbara, California since 1979. The practice is office based primary care medicine and skilled nursing home care. Dr. Aijian cares for people age 16 and older. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Internal Medicine doctors specialize in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic illness, as well as preventative health visits. Dr, Aijian graduated from the University of California Riverside. He then graduated from The University of Southern California School of Medicine. He did his internship at the Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center. His medical residency in Internal Medicine was at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California.
Dr. Aijian is a primary care doctor in the Santa Barbara Select Independent Physician Association as well as being on the board of directors of that organization. He is the medical director of several skilled nursing facilities in Santa Barbara., and a member of the Christian Medical Dental Association.
Dr. Aijian has several guiding principles of how he practices medicine: Providing up to date scientific diagnosis and treatment of disease, having the patient assume as much involvement in the management of their own health as possible, preventing problems long before they occur, screening to find disease as early as possible, and recognizing and addressing the spiritual aspects of health and disease.
Dr. Aijian believes all human life is a gift from God. He does not participate in medically supervised taking of life at any age.
Dr. Aijian’s first language is English. He speaks Spanish, as well, and has many Spanish speaking patients.
The office accepts a wide variety of insurance types including most PPO’s, Medicare, United Health Care and Humana Medicare Advantage.
